Apple Crumble Gluten Free

Apple Crmble

Ingredients

Filling base:

  • 8-10 apples (any kind) the sweeter the apple the less sugar you need to add
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tspn cinnamon or 3 drops of cinnamon essential oil
  • 1/2 tspn cloves or 2 drops of cloves essential oil
  • 1/4 tspn Himalayan pink ground salt

Crumble topping:

  • 1 cup coconut flour
  • 1 cup raw rolled oats (gluten option) millet flakes, quinoa flakes)
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar (stevia, pure maple syrup, )
  • 2 tbspns  organic honey
  • 25 g organic butter or 1/4 cup organic coconut oil
  • 1 tspn cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven 180 C
  2. Peel, slice, and core apples then slice and cut into very small pieces. Rub in cinnamon and cloves or the essential oils, toss sugar through apple, and add 1/4 tspn salt.
  3. For the crumble, gently rub the butter and flour together until crumbly texture, then add rolled oats, sugar, cinnamon, again gently toss all together until mixed then add the honey and finally mix together.
  4. Place the apple filing mix into a greased pie dish and press apple firmly down and level.
  5. Distribute the crumble topping thickly on top. You can either press firmly and compact on top so forms into a pie crust or lightly cover and press gently for a loose crumble texture.
  6. Place in oven baking for 30 mins or until golden brown. serve either hot or cold, it's delicious with homemade vanilla bean ice-cream, or Greek vanilla yogurt, and  A2 cream. It's simply delicious to make very healthy and  indulgencing!
